Just visited OCMD from Virginia. Loved that this tavern was right near where I was staying, as I love a craft beer! But what really had me impressed was how awesome the food was. Every single item on the menu sounds awesome, not enough time to eat it all. Definitely ask about the specials here! My fave item, among the others such as the steamed shrimp and steamed clams , was blown away by the Crabby Melt served with fried green beans! No need to eat elsewhere when you got the best food around to pair with your beer! Can’t wait to come back.

Great bar vibe to this place. I will say the food and vibe go hand in hand the vibe makes you feel right like family while the food gives you that upscale dining but that cheap money saving price. Always a new weekly special. An I will say the homemade cheesecake is to die for.

Came down to OC for a competition with my little ones and went to the tap house next to our hotel the fenwick inn. The atmosphere was very nice, everyone was very kind and cheerful. I ordered the boom boom shrimp tacos , crabby pretzel , the cream of crab soup for my daughter, and the kids cheeseburger for my son. First the kids burger was delicious (according to my 6 year old son) but according to me the fries that it came with were some of the best fries I’ve ever had. I’m not sure how they cut them but they were so perfect and well seasoned. The crabby pretzel was ok but I couldn’t finish it, it was just to salty. If they ease up on the salt and add just a bit more crab and old bay it would be perfection. My daughter said the cream of crab soup tasted really good but that was right before finding a hair in her soup, the waitress acted quickly and kindly and offered to replace the soup however my daughter was grossed out and just opted for a kids burger like my son. Lastly the boom boom tacos were yummy but I was disappointed that they were literally pieces of like the fried popcorn shrimps and not like battered pieces of fried shrimp. I expected a better quality especially for the price. Nonetheless the combination of great service and good food despite the mishaps is the reason I rated it the way I did. I know we will end up coming back down for another comp and I will be back to enjoy the tap house again.
