Surf Villa Hotel

I was so unhappy with this place that the building feels like it is falling apart. The rooms are super small. The shower water goes from burn you hot to really cold while you are in the shower my son almost got burned by the water. I paid for parking an I had to park on the street the TV. Would not work at all and is the size of a laptop computer .The beds are so hard and uncomfortable the towels looked dirty and had stans on them the towel rack came right out of the wall when i tried to grab it. This is more of a place for young kids that don't care. I would never stay there again. I would sleep in my car first, and even my young son was unhappy.

once we got there, we couldnt find parking for the lufe of us. then we go to the counter, and the manager was just completely belligerent and rude. he was treating us worse than a dog with rabies. the place smelled and looked decrepit. and the worst part, he cancled our reservation on us at around 11:30 at night, we even showed him the confirmation email. he kicked us out once he saw that we werent going to be giving him buisness, he kicked us out, leaving us stranded without a place to sleep, and on top of that, he still tried to charge us. do not give this buisness your money

Stayed in room 18. Our only complaint was that the door jam is slightly broken so it took a few tries to get the lock to work. Ultimatly, the lock always worked, if we persevered. The room was small (you get what you pay for, this hotel had comparatively low rates for memorial day weekend). More importantly, it was very clean, and because it was small housekeeping even cleaned up our mess so they could make the bed. They also swept the sand out (best housekeeping we've ever had, they folded our clothing!). Parking was abundant once we found overflow parking by the Blue Wave (see the $20 all day sign heading south from Blue Wave on Philadelphia Ave.) There's a sign but it was hard to see when we first arrived. Overflow was 2 min walk from hotel (and free, despite the sign). Air conditioning unit worked well. The place cooled down in 15 min. Enjoy this cozy, simple but well run, hotel! Just don't bring a huge amount of stuff with you and you'll do fine. As importantly, the hotel is a 2 min walk from the boardwalk, well positioned to give you access to OC's beaches and ofte charming local restaurants.
