Princess Royale Oceanfront Resort

Our second year staying at this location. Location is great , outside bar and food GREAT!
Front desk not so great, very slow and unaware of simple requests.
Reason for the post is to express my disappointment in accommodating my family.
We requested late check-out during check in and was informed we could check back. So we checked back on 3 separate occasions during our stay . Our last request Saturday evening we were informed to call Sunday morning at 9am. We did so and were told no. The frustrating part is that others who we traveled with in our party were given late check out. As someone who travels a lot , this experience was not very accommodating. Spoke to the Manager as I was leaving wanted to inform her that it should have been handled differently, didn’t seem to care .

Other issues we encountered that made the experience bad this time around we requested a room with a beach view and did not get that. Be careful how you book, also strong odor of smoke (marijuana) throughout our room, most likely from filtering system.

Also had issues with them charging me incorrectly, which staff could not resolve and didn’t seem to really care about resolving.

House Keepers also knocked on our doors before we checked out , wanted to know if we’ve left yet, before standard check-out time . SMH

Currently staying in a 2 queen bedroom, side ocean view suite and the room and hotel have been great. It would get 5 stars if there was a more routine like cleaning service for trash pickup and towel replacement.

This stay resulted in a 1 star overall and 1 star service rating because our room was double charged when we checked in. We didn't notice the double charge until we went to a restaurant and our card was declined. We immediately called the resort and after a long call the resort admitted that the double charge was on accident and the refund would take 7-10 days. There were no calls, emails, texts, or anything letting us know that the card was double charged, so we ended up overdrafting our account and were left without money on our first full day of our 3 night stay. When I practically begged for assistance, the only offer to help was a $100 credit at the resort. We have 2 adukts, a 5 year old, and a 3 year old, this would pay for 1 meal and still no gas to drive back home to NY. We traveled 7 hours from NY to Ocean City and the resort could not assist in any way. We are not rich and live paycheck to paycheck and this mistake was a major problem to us. Sad to say that we will never stay here again and strongly advise that nobody else does. This $650 mistake is not affordable and with the 100s, if not 1000s of guests that stay here they cannot assist when they've made a mistake, it is unacceptable. I still am in shock seeing our entire vacation fund disappear due to 1 person's mistake. DO NOT STAY HERE!

The Princess Royale was absolutely incredible for both our guest room block and our wedding reception. The setup was stunning, and the layout of the restaurant created the perfect transition and flow from our beachfront ceremony into the reception. The bar area is beautiful, and Sam was hands-down the BEST bartender! Melania, our event coordinator/catering manager was phenomenal throughout the entire process — extremely professional, accommodating, responsive, and genuinely kind. She truly did everything she could to bring our vision to life. All of the staff are extremely attentive and personable and will do their best to get you what you need! The food was also TOP NOTCH. Our guests are still raving about how delicious everything was! Our menu included crab cakes, flank steak, bacon brussels & Au gratin potatoes. We had such an amazing experience and would absolutely recommend staying at the Princess or hosting any event there! Can’t wait to plan our first anniversary trip!🤍🌊💍
