Princess Royale Oceanfront Resort

Really wanted to give this overall a 5 star but the service wasn’t that great. I got the ocean front walk out room and had called to make sure it was the walk out room which was confirmed over the phone before arriving as well as requesting a “crib” which was as well confirmed over the phone with the hotel and still receiving an email confirming that i was going to receive a “crib”. Upon checking in i was welcomed good i guess up until they gave me the same room but on a third floor and being told “there’s nothing they and i could do nothing about it” okay thats fine. I made sure to remind them again about the “crib” at the front desk and they still confirmed it and said that they were sending it up to my room. I get to my room and i get a call from the front desk saying “theres no cribs just pack and plays and its first come first serve” … just didn’t understand why i was told and confirmed things and yet didn’t receive any. The room is really nice but the setup on the bed wasn’t. The pillows were just thrown. There’s no phone page or anything to know how to contact room service or front desk so i had to call the actual phone number on my personal phone. Booking through expedia it says vip access and when i called before checking in twice two different people told me two different things. (Called the actual hotel). Theres nothing vip about it. Beach was nice. I get it, its 4th of july weekend and its really busy but there’s a way to treat your customers and this wasn’t it. Boardwalk is about a 15 minute drive, beach is right behind the hotel, a lot of nearby activities. I don’t know maybe it was just my luck with the hotel but i don’t think i would be coming back. As an anniversary gift to my husband and having a mini vacation for the fist time with our baby, and driving 5 hours to get here it wasn’t what i expected.

Currently staying in a 2 queen bedroom, side ocean view suite and the room and hotel have been great. It would get 5 stars if there was a more routine like cleaning service for trash pickup and towel replacement.

This stay resulted in a 1 star overall and 1 star service rating because our room was double charged when we checked in. We didn't notice the double charge until we went to a restaurant and our card was declined. We immediately called the resort and after a long call the resort admitted that the double charge was on accident and the refund would take 7-10 days. There were no calls, emails, texts, or anything letting us know that the card was double charged, so we ended up overdrafting our account and were left without money on our first full day of our 3 night stay. When I practically begged for assistance, the only offer to help was a $100 credit at the resort. We have 2 adukts, a 5 year old, and a 3 year old, this would pay for 1 meal and still no gas to drive back home to NY. We traveled 7 hours from NY to Ocean City and the resort could not assist in any way. We are not rich and live paycheck to paycheck and this mistake was a major problem to us. Sad to say that we will never stay here again and strongly advise that nobody else does. This $650 mistake is not affordable and with the 100s, if not 1000s of guests that stay here they cannot assist when they've made a mistake, it is unacceptable. I still am in shock seeing our entire vacation fund disappear due to 1 person's mistake. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Our stay at the Princess Royale from May 5–12 was absolutely wonderful and made our anniversary celebration on May 6 so special.
A heartfelt thank you to Charlotte for arranging such beautiful anniversary amenities for our room. We were spoiled with delicious hot crab dip, finger sandwiches, a lovely cheese and cracker tray, fresh strawberries, chocolate chip cookies, sparkling water, and champagne with orange juice for mimosas. Everything was beautifully presented, plentiful, and delicious.
A special thank you as well to Sam and the other young woman who delivered everything to our room. They were so professional, kind, and cheerful, which made the surprise even more memorable.
We also thoroughly enjoyed our time at the spa. It was such a pleasure meeting McKenzie, who was warm, welcoming, and clearly takes pride in providing guests with a relaxing experience. My massage with Melanie was wonderful, and Sara thoroughly enjoyed her massage with Brian. It was truly one of the highlights of our anniversary week.
We loved the large indoor pool, the arcade, our spacious oceanfront king suite with balcony, the delicious coffee shop offerings, and browsing in the gift shop where everyone was so pleasant.
Thank you to everyone at Princess Royale for helping create such treasured anniversary memories. We truly felt welcomed, pampered, and appreciated throughout our stay. We are already looking forward to returning next year and hope to make a week at Princess Royale our annual anniversary tradition for many years to come. We can’t wait to be back!
