Ocean Downs Casino

We were looking for something a little different to done evening while on vacation in the area of Berlin MD. I noticed they had horse races, and my husband and I decided to go. We happened to go on a Wednesday and we're pleasantly surprised to learn about $1 Wednesdays outside for the races. They had lite beer, hot dogs and ice cream offered for a $1 if you chose to have those items. We had a blast! We're not big gamblers but the staff was very helpful and we pretty much broke even by the end of the night. This ended up being one of our favorite nights rooting for the horses! 😊

We like how small it is and I don't get lost. The machines are good as far as newness. We get good free slot pay every time we went. $25-$80 per day and free food vouchers, depending on amount of play, scratch offs where you could win more free play. We enjoyed our time. We will be back.

My wife, neighbors, and I are in this casino at least a couple of times a week for dining and gaming. It is usually a good time with good food and good service. However, on Thursday evening at about 430 pm, my wife and I went into the scorebook restaurant . We were met with a miserable waitress/ bartender who never gave us her name, she took our drink order never saying a word to us, went to the next table ,took about 15 minutes to get their drinks and then proceeded to take their order, when I questioned her about us being first, she lied and said they had been sitting at the bar. They were not, I watched them come in from the casino. ( Even if they were at the bar, what does that have to do with seating at a restaurant?) Sir, I wanted to bring this to your attention before she ruins other peoples dinner like she did mine. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. I did send an email on this matter on the contact form but did not get a response from the casino. The owner contacted me shortly after posting and apologized, not sure if anything was said to the employee because when I was in the casino after this apology, said employee was still miserable and very slow in taking orders from customers.She should be retrained on her job and on customer service. I will not be going back to Ocean downs for awhile.
