Holiday Inn & Suites Ocean City

Absolutely loved our stay here! The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and spacious. We had an excellent view of the ocean and the pools were wonderful! My daughter LOVED the kids activity pool. Poolside service was a huge plus. Convenient location as well. Being on the boardwalk really wasn’t bad either. No noise that we really heard from the sixth floor. So nice to be able to walk right out onto it. Also close the the fractured prune!!! Would highly recommend staying here.

Hotel was great. Room was great. View was great. Location is great. Unfortunately this hotel has a female lifeguard who has no interest in rescuing kids struggling in the pool. She is Spanish and a bit larger than all the other lifeguards there. She watched our son almost drown and when I asked her to jump on and save him, she said no and that I can do it. Other parents also witnessed this lifeguard not help other struggling kids. This is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. Unfortunately even after speaking to a supervisor about the situation, they put that same lifeguard back out at the pool the rest of the weekend. Obviously hotel staff doesn’t care about the safety of children in the pool. I would beware if you have young kids and wanted to take advantage of the kids pool area.

I really wanted to love staying here because the rooms are nice and the set up is just what we needed for our 2 year old but that was not the case. The front desk staff and the servers at the restaurant were super friendly and that’s the only reason for my 3 stars. The shower plumbing was so loud that both my husband and I were shocked at how much we did not enjoy taking showers. There were also someone else’s false eyelashes all over the floor which ended up stuck to my feet. And then if you’re in the shower for more than 1 minute it starts making a high pitched whistling noise that hurts. At the indoor pool, a man and his two kids were splashing and diving and jumping next to a sign that clearly says no diving and no horseplay. Both my daughter and the small son of the other family in there were terrified and both kept getting splashed in the face. Our clothes and towels that were laid out on the pool chairs all got wet. I understand there are no lifeguards but the staff that was all around said nothing. Why even have rules then? Third, we stayed for 3 nights and housekeeping did not come one time. We had to take out our own trash and get extras from the front desk. We will likely try a different hotel next time we come to OC.
