Fish Tales Boardwalk Inn

On a whim, we came down and stayed for a couple of days here. I knew nothing about Ocean City, but this place is right on the boardwalk and had decent reviews.
Rooms are dated but clean and totally functional. It was quiet, probably one of the quietest hotel stays I've ever had
No coffee pot, no microwave, no hair dryer (just a warning) so we had to walk for coffee in the mornings.

Rooms were great for 3 adults. We chose not to have our room serviced every day, but I did see the cleaning ladies working hard. The location is perfect. Walk to the end of our hotel and your on the boardwalk, and then take a few more steps and bam you're on the beach.

The location of the hotel is great, and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful — especially with parking, which we really appreciated. We were on a last-minute weekend road trip and booked this place around 10 PM, as it was one of the few options still available. The total cost for the night was just over $500, which is definitely overpriced for the quality of the hotel.

Unfortunately, the room itself was disappointing. We walked in to find a fly swatter hanging on the wall, noticeable stains on the carpet, and an uncomfortable mattress with dated bedding. The overall condition made us uncomfortable, and given that we were already eager to get back on the road and closer to family, we decided to leave immediately after checking in.

To their credit, the staff kindly refunded us, which I appreciated — that’s the main reason I wanted to give them 2-3 stars. Also, the manager, a very friendly female, has AMAZING customer service skills which is also why I am giving this place more stars.

This place has potential thanks to its location and staff, but it really needs some updates or a more reasonable price point to match the current condition.
