Pros

The pool is enjoyable.

Excellent location—just a one-minute walk to the boardwalk, making it very convenient.

Cons

The room is extremely basic.

The toilet seat was loose and shifted while in use.

The television was outdated and poor quality. Even though they had cable, both the TV and remote were old and inconvenient to use.

The curtains didn’t close completely, which compromised privacy.

Lighting was limited. One lamp appeared broken, but I later discovered it had simply been unplugged.

The air conditioning unit was bizarrely loud. It made it difficult to fall asleep. Turning it off wasn’t an option because the room became uncomfortably hot, so you’re stuck choosing between noise and heat.

Staff seemed disengaged—no smiles, no warm interaction, just business-like.

Breakfast was very minimal, clearly just enough to claim they provide one.

Parking is limited and can be difficult to find.

Stayed here with my family for the first time. There are some benefits of staying here. The rooms are pretty big (I was in the oceanfront rooms in the back building). Room was also clean upon entry. The people working the front counter were also nice. For the price you pay to stay here, it's a great deal. Very close to the beach as I was right on the boardwalk. Shared balcony access was not an issue.

The cons - twice during my visit, we had the sign on the door requesting service (like the usual clean towels and such), and no one came either day. When we brought it up both times to the front desk, it was the typical "the manager isn't here, I'll need to speak to them" but nothing was ever done about it.

ALSO - the parking is beyond terrible. There is a parking area underneath the hotel, with super tight parking. It takes a lot of effort to not hit a wall or another vehicle. They have signs requesting you park as close to the wall as possible. Which I did. But there's one wall with a large box (electrical box, perhaps?) that sticks out from the wall, and it totally scratched up my car pretty good.

Free breakfast are the small boxes of cereal, and some frozen breakfast sandwiches. Don't expect much regarding breakfast.

For the location price and pool, this is the best deal in OC. It is dated , but the pool is very nice and was really clean. It was never crowded or busy either which was nice. You can walk from your room to the beach in about 1-2 minutes. Could be a little cleaner but i’ve definitely stayed at worse in oc, The free breakfast is good enough. It was convienient with our kids. They serve big variety of cereals , yogurt , breakfast sandwhiches coffees juice and oatmeal’s .It was nice to just grab that quickly and get to the beach. Our room was up top in front which there is a set of steps and balcony. Nobody used it so it was like having a private balcony with city view but if you sat on the edge you can see the ocean to. The steps are sketchy though and the balcony itself is also soft and needs repair. We used it the whole time though and it was good enough. A lot of people did seem to be smokers here which i’m not really a fan of but our room smelled fresh. The only problem we had here was our ac was really loud and rattled . They tried to fix it but weren’t able to. Every employee I interacted with here was super friendly and tried to assist however possible. As for parking I saw a lot of bad reviews about that but it wasn’t even a big deal. I drive an suv and it was fine. If it fills up you can park across the street on a field they own or in a parking garage right next door on the top floor . The beds were soft and comfortable . The little office in the motel has ice creams and drinks you can purchase which was nice if hanging out by the pool. We got to check in early which was also nice. The top floor balcony with small kids is stressful though as they could fall right off. The stairs all around are not the best. You have to carry your luggage and everything up to your rooms they don’t have elevators or trollies so that was stressful a bit. The tv was dated with bad picture and there isn’t wifi here but that didn’t bother me but for some people I know that’s a big deal. I would stay here again probably bc the price location and pool and costumer service.
