Eden Roc Motel

Pros

The pool is enjoyable.

Excellent location—just a one-minute walk to the boardwalk, making it very convenient.

Cons

The room is extremely basic.

The toilet seat was loose and shifted while in use.

The television was outdated and poor quality. Even though they had cable, both the TV and remote were old and inconvenient to use.

The curtains didn’t close completely, which compromised privacy.

Lighting was limited. One lamp appeared broken, but I later discovered it had simply been unplugged.

The air conditioning unit was bizarrely loud. It made it difficult to fall asleep. Turning it off wasn’t an option because the room became uncomfortably hot, so you’re stuck choosing between noise and heat.

Staff seemed disengaged—no smiles, no warm interaction, just business-like.

Breakfast was very minimal, clearly just enough to claim they provide one.

Parking is limited and can be difficult to find.

Stayed here with my family for the first time. There are some benefits of staying here. The rooms are pretty big (I was in the oceanfront rooms in the back building). Room was also clean upon entry. The people working the front counter were also nice. For the price you pay to stay here, it's a great deal. Very close to the beach as I was right on the boardwalk. Shared balcony access was not an issue.

The cons - twice during my visit, we had the sign on the door requesting service (like the usual clean towels and such), and no one came either day. When we brought it up both times to the front desk, it was the typical "the manager isn't here, I'll need to speak to them" but nothing was ever done about it.

ALSO - the parking is beyond terrible. There is a parking area underneath the hotel, with super tight parking. It takes a lot of effort to not hit a wall or another vehicle. They have signs requesting you park as close to the wall as possible. Which I did. But there's one wall with a large box (electrical box, perhaps?) that sticks out from the wall, and it totally scratched up my car pretty good.

Free breakfast are the small boxes of cereal, and some frozen breakfast sandwiches. Don't expect much regarding breakfast.

We had an excellent experience with Eden Roc Motel. Staff was always helpful and kind whenever we needed something or information.

My family spent more time out and about. We spent most of our time enjoying OC. But when we came back to crash the rooms were fairly spacious for a family of 4. The two double beds could have been bigger but sufficed for a good night's sleep.

Overall Eden Roc Motel was a solid choice for a room next to the beach, entertainment, & food. We will definitely consider staying again next year for our return trip. God bless!
