Econo Lodge Oceanfront

My rooms was clean and tidy and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.

I am also a house keeper myself at a hotel so the little things don't bother me on a dated hotel.

I loved waking up to the ocean and sitting on the balcony drinking my cup of coffee.

This is a good location if you want to be right near the beach, amusement parks and restaurants. You get a good value for the lack of money you spend here. The rooms are decent, carpet is old and the bathroom could use a daily mop. The beds are comfy, good amount of pillows and thick sheets. All the rooms have a mini fridge with microwave. I did not like the atmosphere of the indoor pool. It is not maintained daily and the entire room smelled like urine. The outdoor pool is better. They have hoses for you to use when coming off the beach. It is non-smoking but you have a few that light up near the pool.

This was one of the more budget ocean front options for a mid September off-season stay. Although the view and convenience of the location is very nice, the rooms themselves were a mixed bag.

My room was on the third floor, ocean front and it was OK. A small floral scent but not overpowering. The interior is dated, some rusting on metal in some spots, the carpet could be 20 years old... Hard to say. The beds/sheets seemed clean which is probably more important than some other aspects.

My friends room however was first floor ocean front, well, after the first two rooms they were given were disasters. The first smelled like a locker room was doused in febreeze and I accompanied them back to the desk to request another room... The second room given to them was not cleaned. As in, trash in the room smelling of Chinese food that has probably sat there for days. The third room was better but still had this strange odor... The first floor ocean front should be avoided at all costs. We went to a 7-11 and bought air fresheners for their room because of the dank humid smell. Night and day from my third floor room which did not have this musty smell about it. The video attached was the second room my friends were given, which was not cleaned and being late at night that trash was definitely sitting there until morning when the cleaning people arrived.

Small gripe about the balcony is, well my door didn't lock so if someone wanted to they could have gotten into my room from the balcony but also the lights at night from the pool kinda ruin the mood of looking out at the stars and the ocean... It's way too bright they could probably be dimmed or turned off. So if you want that from your oceanfront view go somewhere else.

The staff was friendly enough during our stay, so no problems there.

If you absolutely want ocean front on a budget and you can stand some odd smells and peeling wallpaper, this can suffice. However if you can spend an extra 50-100$ a night go somewhere nicer and really enjoy your trip.
