DoubleTree by Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront

My family and I stayed here while traveling through several states on our vacation, and this was one of the highlights of our trip.

The location is fantastic—right on the beach and within walking distance of restaurants and other attractions. It made getting around Ocean City incredibly convenient.

As a Hilton Honors member, the front desk was able to check me in early, which was a huge help after a long day of traveling. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding. The front desk staff, managers, bell staff, and everyone we interacted with were friendly, professional, and genuinely willing to help. They assisted with our luggage, answered questions, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.

The room was very clean, and I want to give housekeeping special recognition. One of the first things guests notice is whether a room is clean, and they did an excellent job keeping everything spotless.

The hotel itself is well maintained overall, but there are a few minor maintenance items that could use some attention. Some of the furniture is beginning to show normal wear and tear, there are a few cosmetic areas on the walls that could be touched up, and one of the switches near the bed wasn’t working. None of these issues affected our stay, but addressing them would make the hotel feel even more polished.

The pool was clean, the beachfront location is hard to beat, and the overall atmosphere made for a relaxing family vacation.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience. Great customer service, clean rooms, an unbeatable location, and a staff that truly cares about their guests. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ocean City.

There's a lot to like about this place. It's a great location, right on the beach, and there's parking on every level, so it's easy to just pop out of your room and into your vehicle. The place is fairly old, and the parking lot is a little grubby but very convenient.

The shared spaces inside the hotel are clean and so are the rooms. We didn't interact with staff that much, but the place felt welcoming and well run. The price is very fair for what you get, which is a sunny, decent sized room with a balcony. We were surprised to see that our room had a full sized refrigerator and oven, along with a microwave and kitchen sink. It was stocked with tableware, too. There's a Starbucks in the lobby, so it was nice to be able to bring my coffee upstairs and pour it into a real ceramic mug.

There were just two things missing that, to me (and to most people, I think), are important to include in a hotel room. One is a FULL LENGTH MIRROR! This is a big omission since most of us want to be able to see our outfits before going out when traveling, especially out for the evening. The second is body wash on the wall of the shower, which has the pump bottles with the shampoo and the conditioner, but no body wash, I did have a sample size body wash with me but I think people kind of expect the hotel to supply this and will really be inconvenienced if they didn't bring any. Seems chintzy to me.

Other than these couple of omissions, highly recommend.

I had a death in the family and instead of being sent condolences or any kind words the hotel was very rude. They instead reminded me of the cancellation process, refused to give me a credit for my stay, cut me off in conversation and were very rude. After being told the general manager would contact me the next day I never received any calls or emails from him.

There are 3 pools at this location and all are outrageously cold with no heating. The house cleaners were 2 hours late and they only remade the bed and took out the trash. The toilet, bathtub, sink etc were not cleaned and remained dirty the entire stay. The hotel is also several blocks from the boardwalk and the staff at the front desk including management did not care about service complaints, were rude and showed no urgency in helping on any matter.

It's unfortunate that an establishment that received a roach complaint just a month ago remains to practice unsanitary measures. It's also unfortunate that there is no human care or component in their customer service. Don't stay here if you actually want a clean place to stay or somewhere that cares about anything outside of money. Like I said someone died and instead of atleast saying sorry for my loss, they cut me off, talked over me, didn't return calls and remained insensitive and rude.
