Cambria Hotel Ocean City - Bayfront

I normally dont have an issue here. It's a great hotel until this trip. I was in room 501 (Bayfront). Very beautiful view. However there was a piece of the bathroom mirror cracked/ broke off. I went to grab for the hand towel on the sink counter, and I hit my wrist on it. Thankfully It didnt cut my skin. There was also a big crack in the wall. If you stay here I would suggest asking for a room on the opposite side of the bridge because vehicles crossing the bridge can be loud and wont get the best sleep.

When I first came to this hotel 3 years ago, it was marvelous. Very clean. This year, it looked a bit dingy and not spruced up. I feel that being that is off season now, they should be repairing the balconies, touch up on paint and clearing the spider webs off the balconies and steam cleaning the carpets. The room is what you need it for. The Bayfront view is relaxing especially after the summer season. Calm, peaceful and relaxing if you just want to get away for a few days from the hustle and bustle. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Disappointing for a Supposed "Upscale Luxury" Hotel

I booked this hotel based on ads describing it as an upscale, luxury resort—but what we experienced was a standard, overpriced hotel that failed to deliver on nearly every promised amenity.

Online, it was advertised to have a tiki bar with poolside waitstaff—there was no such service. A buffet breakfast for purchase? Nope. A spa? Nope. Room service? Also nope. What we got was a basic stay without the features that convinced us to book in the first place.

The room itself was comfortable enough, but storage was practically nonexistent—I lived out of my suitcase on the floor. The safe, microwave, and fridge were all installed at floor level, which meant getting on my knees just to access basic amenities. No patio with a firepit.

To make things worse, there was no water at all in the hotel from midnight to 6 a.m. the first night. Our shower didn’t work at all until Saturday afternoon—and only after I raised the issue with Sarah, the operations manager. I appreciated that she took time to sit with me and listen to our concerns. She was friendly and attentive, which helped ease some of my frustration.

We were there for a special occasion—my 65th birthday, and my first-ever visit to Ocean City, Maryland, which was a bucket list trip. Despite the disappointing stay, we made the most of it.

I’ll never return to this hotel, but I’m glad we pushed through and checked OC off my list.
