Best Western Plus Pocomoke City

We stayed here two nights for an out of town wedding. Hotel was very clean. Breakfast was supplied and food items were kept well stocked. Front desk staff were very accommodating. They booked and cancelled rooms accordingly to our needs as more people showed up/left/didn’t show up etc etc. Rooms could have been stocked with more towels, and the cleaning staff could smile a little more…. None of them returned our smiles and looked miserable. Other than that I’m a growing fan of the Best Western Plus franchise.

This location was about 30 mins away from the Crab and Cruise location we visited so to us it was a great place to stay. Staff was nice, breakfast was good. They work hard to keep this place clean. Rates were very reasonable

These are the pros and cons after my two nights stay experience. The pros are as follows: clean rooms, modern bathroom, great HVAC, an attentive manager and nice staff. Breakfast was mostly good. The room came with a small fridge, microwave and a coffee maker and a TV that was of appropriate size for the proportion to the room. Cons: although I was put on the first floor (good for me as a smoker) the ice maker on the first floor did not work (had to go to the desk to find out where to get ice) so to get ice I had to go to the second floor but that ice maker worked well and there was a well-stocked vending machine for sodas and snacks. The heater on the pool was broken as it had been when I was there a little over a year ago. At that time I was told the pool would be fixed but it still hadn't been and wouldn't be before I left so I was left without having the use of a pool. It was far too cold and dirty. The manager did verify the temperature and advised me that the heater was broken and that a call would be in to fix it. Even if I wanted to swim in the pool, the floor of the pool appeared dirty as if not vacuumed. At breakfast, the orange juice had a sign that said it was out of order. When I confronted the manager about it while talking to her about the pool, she told me that the orange juice machine was not broken but that the sign had not been taken down and she did offer me a cup of orange juice. It was well past breakfast so I declined. Also the pancake machine was not working the first day. On the second day of breakfast, both machines were working fine. The attendant kept the area very clean and was very kind. The directory that came up on channel 2 on the TV did not correspond to the channels on the television so I had to manually surf channels to discover anything to watch. I found the remote to be confusing and I am in IT. In spite of having discussed my issues with the manager, I was offered no compensation for the lack of use of the pool because of its condition, the lack of orange juice on the first day because of the sign that was not removed and the lack of pancakes from the pancake machine, I was offered no compensation. Overall, I give this hotel two out of five stars. Pool needed cleaned, equipment for breakfast addressed as well as equipment for ice maker and lack of compensation for less than acceptable accommodations.
