One Star - Avoid if Possible

My recent stay at the Americana Hotel in Ocean City was extremely disappointing. The room service was terrible—nonexistent, actually. Our room wasn't cleaned even once during our entire stay. To make matters worse, the in-room phone wasn't connected, making it impossible to call the front desk for assistance. The room itself was dimly lit, with very few lights, creating a depressing atmosphere. Also, there wasn't a Bible in the dresser drawer, which is something I always appreciate finding in a hotel room. Overall, the experience was subpar, and the terrible service only compounded the issues. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable or convenient stay.

The rooms are dated, but if you get a room with a view to the beachfront (from the balcony or the room), the view is nice.

For a beach town, that is affected by plastic pollution and will experience the impacts of rising sea levels before others, it was shocking to see how little Ocean City and its businesses seem to care about climate and environment. For a city that lives from tourism, one would expect to see every organization and person that cares about the city to do whatever they can to be green and to ensure the city has a prosperous future.

For a hotel like Americana good steps to take to play its part:
- shift from individually packaged single-use toiletries to refillable containers.
- provide for, encourage and ensure recycling of recyclable materials (plastics, cans, paper, cardboard).
- and why not install solar panels on the roof to produce own electricity or at least buy energy/electricity from a community solar project...

If you're looking for a great location this is it. EVERYTHING else is awful. Parking is BS very small spaces, the rooms are old and outdated, air conditioning is awful, the customer service is also terrible. Our sheets had stains on them, room smelled. For being a privately owned hotel I thought they would be tip notch. We have never stayed at a hotel this bad. Keep your money and go elsewhere.
