The Worcester County Arts Council is pleased to announce that the 2026 Paint Worcester County Plein Air event will take place September 13–18, 2026. This beloved annual tradition brings artists together to capture the beauty and character of Worcester County through plein air painting.
In celebration of the Arts Council’s 50th Anniversary, this year’s event will be hosted at the Worcester County Arts Council Gallery in Berlin, creating a special opportunity to showcase both the artists and this milestone year.
The week will culminate on September 18 with an Awards Presentation, Reception, and Art Sales where the public is invited to view and purchase freshly created works.
Artwork submitted for the competition will be reviewed by local artist, Laura Jenkins. We are excited to welcome local plein air artist Laura Jenkins as this year’s juror. A Worcester County resident and accomplished artist, Laura’s work reflects a deep connection to the Eastern Shore landscape and a passion for capturing the beauty of our local surroundings.
Painting outdoors, or “en plein air,” where she works to capture the shifting light and atmosphere of her subject, is a special joy for Laura. She often uses those direct nature studies as the foundation for a more refined painting when she’s back in her studio.
We are also grateful to Laura for sponsoring the $500 Golden Anniversary Artists’ Choice Award, a special award selected by the participating artists. Her generosity adds a meaningful touch to our 50th Anniversary Celebration and supports the spirit of creativity and community that makes this event so special.
