Shore Point Cottages

My husband and I had a wonderful last-minute stay at Shore Point Cottages during the first week of September. They were incredibly accommodating and got us booked right away for 3 nights at a great rate. The cottage was spotless, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and the pool was so relaxing. We loved the screened-in porch and patio lights there was even a fireplace we didn’t get to use but was a nice touch. AC worked great, neighbors were friendly, and they welcomed our dogs too! Plenty of stores nearby. We’ll definitely be back!

Fabulous place! The wildlife will sing you to sleep each night. The beds are comfy and air conditioning was nice and cold. Showers had great water pressure and were very relaxing. The pool was very clean. Everyone was friendly.

However, upon arrival, our cottage was dirty. Dirt smudges and foot prints all over the walls, dirty front door and handle, dirty light switch plates and wall surrounding them. The baseboards and windowsills were dirty with splashes of dried something and a thick layer of dust & pet hair, and the living area counter was covered in sand when we arrived. Dried toothpaste on the bathroom faucet, dried shampoo on the inside shower glass door, and dried brown smears on the wall near the toilet paper. No cleaning supplies except a really old broom. We brought our luggage in and immediately went to get cleaning supplies.

Space was good for our family of 4, however there are only 3 drawers and a few hooks to hang purses or jackets in the back bedroom, absolutely zero hooks or drawers or any storage in the bunk bed room. The grounds were well maintained, but inside the units seemed to go unmaintained, especially after we talked to a few other guests with similar experiences with their cottages being dirty. It really is a shame for a newer facility with granite countertops to be so neglected. We texted the property manager about the condition of our cottage with no acknowledgment.

Also, these units are self sufficient. We received 6 bath towels, 6 face cloths, and 3 hand towels for a week with 4 people, and no housekeeping or new towels. The laundry on site was $3 per wash and $3 per dry, and there is only 1 washer and 1 dryer for the entire facility.

The facility is gated, but we witnessed more than a few people drive on the lawn to get around the gate, so it really isn’t secure at all.

We might stay here again in the future, because it is pet friendly, but we will be better prepared.
