Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ocean City

This hotel was very clean, the room was great! The bed was very comfortable making for a good nights sleep. Very clean room and attentive staff.

One 2 small negatives. Breakfast was ok with a waffle and pancake maker, but would be great if they added eggs and a meat. Also this hotel only has 1 elevator which makes it slow to get to your room when it's busy.

There is a lady by the name of Kim that was very rude & unprofessional. I booked two nights for my father and son because they are traveling for a tournament. The morning of check in, I called the front desk to notify them that the card I originally booked the reservation with has been compromised. I asked the agent if I would be able to use a different card at check in, or if there was a credit card authorization form I could submit & secure payment. The agent stated I will be able to use a different card at check in & added a note in the reservation that I will change cards on file at check in. I also requested if possible for an early check in. The agent took my number and said a manager will reach out to me if that was possible. This was around 6:30am this morning. At 3:10pm, Kim calls me and stated that my card declined for payment. I notified her that I spoke with an agent that said it was okay to switch cards at check-in. Her response was very nasty and rude stating that was not okay, that a payment is needed now and I had until 3:20pm to update payment. I tried to explain to Kim because my CC was compromised, I sent the payment to my father that was checking in & was driving to the hotel as we speak. I was not sure if I could secure my fathers cc in 10 minutes since he was driving. She responded, well unfortunately that’s not my problem and you have until 3:20pm to make a payment or we are going to cancel the reservation. I, myself too work at the front desk of a hotel. I had to walk away from the desk during the time of heavy check ins, call my dad while he’s driving on the highway where he had to pull over on the shoulder to give me his card information so that my family was not stranded in O.C. I can’t believe she waited until check in time to call, after I called hours ago & only allowed me 10mins to secure my room. If she was proactive with arrivals earlier in the day, we would have been able to secure payment earlier that morning. Unbelievable, if she’ in management then the hotel should consider other options.

The service was pretty good. The rooms were clean. The only thing that I wish was better was the continental breakfast add meat and eggs to the menu and the beds were very uncomfortable. The mattress for the pull-out couch should be replaced with memory foam. my brother was in EXCRUCIATING PAIN trying to sleep on the pull out couch. He could feel every piece of metal and every spring that made up the mattress. For the price you charge that's the least you could do... but other than that ...the rooms were good. I would stay there again. Thank you for the experience.
