La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ocean City

We stayed at La Quinta last summer because we’ve stayed there before and wanted to bring our dogs since they are pet friendly and we’ve stayed before with no issue. This last time we arrived to a dirty floor dead battery’s in the remote and ants crawling up the wall from the trash can next to the bed. We called the front desk about changing rooms but they were full and they said they didn’t have batteries and they offered us to come down and get a can of raid to kill the ants ourselves. Every time previous we have had no issues with this hotel. It was clean comfortable stays until our last stay. My wife contacted the new manager after our stay, she said she was new and she needed to talk to the owner about compensation for the terrible stay we had. So months go by and my wife reached out again and was given the run around and was promised a call back from the manager either on Sunday or Monday of this week because the manager was in a meeting but still nothing. This place was a awesome hotel clean very accommodating and pet friendly. The funny thing is I noticed on booking their rating has gone way down from what it was. In my opinion if this hotel actually cares about their guests they should fire whoever is in charge of running this hotel immediately. They obviously have no clue how to run a hotel or to actually keep guest happy. It’s clear they don’t care about the quest happiness or keeping the rooms clean. There are plenty of other hotels in O.C that would appreciate our money. My wife called Friday May 1st and was told the manager was in a meeting and then proceeded to leave her name and number with the front desk asking for a call back anytime on the 3rd or 4th and it now the 7th with no call from management. Does that seem professional?

Let’s start with the location. "Oceanfront paradise"? Hardly. We were banished to the bay side, staring at four long blocks of concrete just to catch a glimpse of the beginning of the boardwalk. But that was just the prologue to this absolute nightmare.
​The Ready-Room Lie
​Before driving over, we called ahead. “Yes, your room is perfectly ready!” they assured us. We arrive a mere hour later, bags in hand, only to be forced into a hostage situation in the lobby. They made us wait. Why? Because the room wasn't actually ready. A blatant, unnecessary lie right out of the gate. The room itself? Aggressively mediocre.
​The Dinner Party Ambush (FINANCIAL SHENANIGANS)
​While we were trying to enjoy dinner, my phone buzzed. A notification. They had stealth-charged our credit card for a completely random $19.67.
​When we marched up to the front desk to demand answers, their excuse was laughable. They claimed it was the "remaining balance" of a room we had already paid in full on Booking.com.
​WARNING: This is BEYOND shady. This is predatory.

PS THEY JUST CHARGED ME AGAIN! I will follow with my bank at this point!

We had an excellent 3 night stay at LaQuinta Inn due to the staff & location close to the beach. We can’t thank Ashley, the manager & her staff enough for their professional caring regard & awesome customer service. Ashley took us in after a bad experience at another local hotel. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast as well. Our cats loved it so much that they didn’t want to leave =) We will be back!
