La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ocean City

I have a 3 for the room just because of a “partial ocean view” (see photo below). My fault…I thought it would be a bit more than what we seen. You are best off getting a cheaper room instead of paying more for a partial view. I would rate it a 5 if you have pets. For what we paid…$300, I did expect more.

We felt extremely safe at the hotel and the beach was right across the street. However, they do not have a lock on the rear door where guests park. I would recommend they install a pad where you need to use your key card to enter.

The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great!

Clean beach. We seen a man fishing at night off the beach and got 3 sting rays. Several people had fires on the beach. Beautiful!

They allow pets in all rooms. I have allergies and asked if they set aside rooms that do not allow pets. They do not have that option if that is important to you.

I was shocked when we checked in and walked in our room. The room looked like someone had just checked out of the room, except for beds being made. The floor was filthy, dirt, food crumbs and even dried food on the floor and corners of room. Make-up on the walls, fingerprints and who knows what on the headboards. Not to mention the room door was ajar when we approached the room.
We called the front desk, the general manager did come up and I showed him the dirt. I asked him, does this room look like it has been cleaned properly? He said no and sent someone up to clean the floors and clean the bathroom. The tub got clogged after one shower. Asked for extra towels, never got them.
While it is a pet friendly hotel, should rip up the hallway carpet because the carpets are very stained and smell of urine. I really was just so surprised how dirty a hotel can actually be and how housekeeping could consider a room “check in ready”. The hotel needs a new housekeeping manager and a major cleaning.
The best part of the hotel was the morning coffee/breakfast staff. 2 ladies in particular, I don’t recall their names but the food areas were clean, they were attentive, friendly and one made my son a waffle. Best part of the hotel/our stay.

Let me start off by saying the location is OK, it’s not a horrible location. Though, the cleanliness of the hotel overall was absolutely dreadful. It was my wife and I’s anniversary, we stopped by the pool but it was disgusting. There was trash all over the place and it was just plain gross and dirty. Secondly, the elevators. The elevator was so slow and kept stalling in between each floor. I was appalled, I did not expect to deal with such an elevator. I thought it was going to stop any minute while I was in there. Thirdly, the rooms were OK, there were some greasy marks and spots all over the headboard and the floors had some tracking prints.
Overall cleanliness? I would give it a rough 4/10, it could have been better.
Overall experience? A solid 5/10. Be cautious where you stay.
I would not recommend this place and I’d rather next time find a different place.
