Grand Hotel

I loved this hotel!! Our stay was very pleasant. The direct ocean view was superb! Hotel staff and service was exceptionally helpful. The indoor pool was so nice and the kids loved the arcade/game area. The outdoor pool deck was very clean and positioned nicely to watch the sunset. The hotel restaurant and deck also shared the same lovely sunset view. My only complaint was the rude staff in the hotel Cafe on the ground level and the adjacent attached boardwalk pizzeria. The cashier was rude and made a huge error with my order tha I didn't notice until I returned to my room. We ordered Chicken Alfredo and even pointed to the photograph to ensure it was the correct order. Once in our room I opened the platter to see only plain pasta Alfredo with no chicken. I told the manager that no one would spend almost $20 for plain Alfredo and he insistent that I would have to pay an extra ten dollars extra for them to add chicken. So we know where not to eat on our next visit to the Grand Hotel. But we will definitely visit this hotel again. Everything else was wonderful!!!

We only had two problems with our stay. Guaranteed check in is supposed to be at 4 but a room was not ready until 5. Thankfully they held our bags for us. And second issue is the hotel restaurant. Staff was not very friendly, the hostess just stood around and didn't seat us until another staff member told them to. She didn't acknowledge our presence. Then our server tried giving us the wrong drinks and gave our 3 year old a glass cup. They were not busy and our server only checked on us in passing. The food is worth the price. Your better off taking the time to go somewhere else to eat. Hotel itself was great. Right on the boardwalk with beach access. The cafe is great to have. And rooms were nice.

We were given a great group rate for a class reunion event. I wanted to stay there for years, but thought it was too far from downtown. It turned out to be the perfect location. We left the slider open and enjoyed the sound of waves crashing on the beach every night. There was too much crowd noise downtown when I stayed around 6th street . Also. there were many affordable and delicious food choices right at The Grand. I will definitely go back.
