Grand Hotel
I am really hesitant to write a review like this but I think it needs to be out there for others to see.
My family has stayed at the grand hotel a few times over the past few years and they were great stays. We love the location and the amenities provided like the indoor pool and grand terrace restaurant. We decided to book for this past weekend for the winterfest and to get away like we normally do. When I called after making the reservation I asked if the pool and restaurant were open and was told they would be. Imagine my surprise when I got to the hotel to find out a large group from had the restaurant reserved all week into the weekend and had the pool blocked off everyday at certain times. While that was not a dealbreaker for us, it was disappointing.
What was alarming however was that there was a general impression that this group had major priority over the regular paying customers. They were consistently holding up elevators, taking up every quiet spot in the hotel and were rude to those using the pool prior to their allotted time slot. They would come in early, stare at us like we had no right to be there and would begin some kind of chanting almost as to try and get us out of there. Worse yet, the manager on duty seemed to dismiss complaints about their children running around the hallways after quiet hours as well as their harassment of other guests. Long story short, we could not have been happier to leave this morning sadly. All guests have rights and it seemed ours weren't a priority or respected by the group and management.
While our room itself was clean, the bathroom needed major TLC. Paint chipping, slow shower head and a clear gap between the shower and flooring that could cause leaks if not addressed and mold. I am not sure if the hotel has changed ownership or not but I would look into updating the rooms.
I hope the Grand will read this with serious consideration. We love staying there but won't stay there anymore if this is how repeat customers are to be treated.

Hotel was nice, rooms clean and the staff very friendly. Ocean front rooms are excellent for views.
Also something you usually lack in a hotel is great shower pressure, I was shocked how much pressure we had.

Rooms were not very clean. Need to do better jobs on the upkeep of the hotel. Stained carpets in the bedroom. Did not vacuum the room before we arrived. Bathroom wasn't much better. Their hair dryer is a joke. Rusty railings on the balcony that were broke. Etc....
