Commander Hotel & Suites

We enjoyed staying here. Location right on the beach with each access to the boardwalk, restaurants, and the beach. The cafe under the hotel, Bai-Tee was fantastic! Open 7-3, delicious coffee and drinks, bakery items, and breakfast/brunch food was amazing. Commander guests get 2 complimentary drip coffees daily.

Some room positives: Lobby smelled nice, nice balcony, plenty of counter space, large sofa bed and 2 TVs.

Some room negatives: parking was tricky/tight. Luckily we got ok spots each day we were there and had to take the car out. Sand was hard to keep out of the room, and was easily tracked in especially from the balcony. The bathroom was small. Everything seemed to be damp the whole time, things never dried fully and even dry things felt damp after being in the room. There was mold/mildew on the ceiling. Beds were not very comfortable and felt small for queens. The AC unit was loud. A larger fridge with actual freezer space would have been great, because our ice packs did not re-freeze for the trip home. Asked for more hand towels and tissues but didn’t get them until someone knocked on the door at night asking if we needed anything. We did not use either indoor or outdoor pool, but the indoor pool was small and cloudy.

Overall, we would stay here again.

Was in town for a volleyball tournament. The hotel was in a great location to everything. The rates were very reasonable (off-season). The staff was very helpful and nice. The hotel was very clean, smelled nice. However there was a smell of Marijuana on my floor. The room was spacious, had a small fridge and microwave. The beds were comfy! Bathroom was kinda small. Great view of the ocean from the balcony. I would definitely stay there again.

We always love our weeks at the commander hotel. Best beach vacation spot ever!!! Close to everything on the boardwalk but far enough away so it is still quiet at night. The rooms are perfect. So big and clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly and courteous and always accommodating to our every need. I always recommend the commander!!!!!
