Ashore Resort & Beach Club

Whitney at the front desk welcomed me with eye contact and a smile the second I walked through the door. I asked about an upgrade to a king bed and she generously put me in a premium room on the top floor with a great view. A nice perk of attending a conference in off season. She later greeted me when I came in for the evening asking if I was enjoying myself. The housekeeper in the morning went above and beyond to honor a special request and thoroughly cleaned my room!

The conference food is good and the amenities are nice. I would highly recommend the Ashore for a getaway or a special event.

Our experience with this resort has been nothing but deplorable! After our AAA rep spoke directly with the resort to ensure we'd receive everything shown & mentioned on their website for the chosen room class, we booked a room to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival, we asked if we could check in early, not knowing that we'd be bumped to one of the worst rooms possible. Immediately after seeing the room (& its lack of everything promised), we returned to the front desk to request a room that contained all the amenities we paid for. The staff member informed us that the rooms with those amenities hadn't been cleaned yet. We offered to wait until one was cleaned. He then told us that he couldn't switch our room because EVERY SINGLE ROOM with those amenities had already been taken. Not wanting to ruin the day for the wedding party also waiting in the lobby, we dealt with the room he had assigned. It was terrible! Then, when checking out, we noticed we didn't receive the full amount of the ‘incident holding fee’... only to discover that they had also charged us for a “resort fee” (even though that fee is ONLY valid from May 23 - September 30, according to our confirmation paperwork)! The front desk employee went to speak to a manager. When she returned reiterating that she could not issue a refund, the manager on duty suddenly became unavailable to speak with us when we asked. We have nothing positive to say about this resort!

Ashore Resort & Beach is beautiful! We stayed for a week. It is pet friendly. The building is designed so that pretty much every room has a side beach room, although the balcony is VERY tiny. The bed nice & firm although the bathroom we had had, had a stand up shower with no sliding door or anyway to have a shower curtain up. There's a restaurant on site and beautiful comfortable lounge areas inside & out. Evening live music by the outdoor bar is also great! The fitness amenities is very simple, few weights, a bike, 2 treadmills. Staff was also very nice, location right next to the beach was also a plus! We will definitely book again.
