Tidelands Caribbean Hotel & Suites

This is definitely a 2 star hotel. The best part about it was the bar because they make your drinks with a lot of alcohol. We stayed for 5 nights and 6 days and not one time did we see them clean the pool, our room overlooked the pool and it got cloudier and cloudier every night. No one was out there in the morning checking the pH or vacuuming it, there were piles of sand on the bottom. The pool on the rooftop was a little cleaner but not by much. The room we were in had black mold in the bathroom and black mold on the bottom of the balcony above us. The vents of the AC leaked and since there were tile floors it was super slippery. The first morning i woke up my throat was on fire we opened up the ac vent with the filter and it was a sea of bacteria, we attempted to clean it to knock all the nastiness off but im sure it was infested with mold too. The only thing it has going for it is the location. It took forever to get into our rooms, our check in was at 4pm and we didn't get into our room until almost 5 pm. The vent above the stove didn't work and the sliding door had no wheels. The beds were comfy though. The elevator had an alarm going off all week no one turned it off or cared to turn it off i guess. This is a one and done type visit to this place. This place needs to be burned down and re built for me to come back here and to recommend to anyone to visit. The prices can be cheaper for the horrible quality it was.

Me the wife my mom and two kids booked this hotel for the first time this past weekend. We were very pleased with everything. We are used to 4 star and up hotels but when I go to the beach I wanna feel close and apart of the beach. Every thing was fine. A little sand on the balcony is expected.......it's the beach! Good size, friendly accommodating staff and location. The parking sucked but we were only a block away from the hotel which wasn't bad at all. Room 305

Recently had a two night stay here in one of the standard two room suite city view ( building with the pool bar). The room was clean and actually had been mostly updated since our stay last year. Furniture updated, paint updated, and new bedding. The room was clean and towels were fine and in good condition. The air conditioning was perfect. The bathroom still needs updated, but was fine without update to. Great location for boardwalk food and stores. Only short walk to inlet.
