Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Ocean City

Room was nice and spacious. Clean with comfortable beds. Bathroom was on the small side. Good location. When we checked in the front desk said if we needed anything to ask. He specifically mentioned more blankets, pillows, towels etc. That night we asked for an extra blanket and pillow. We were told no(different front desk person). She said we still treat things like it’s Covid and don’t give out extras…..I’m not sure how giving an extra blanket or pillow has anything to do with Covid. We didn’t ask for our room to be cleaned. Breakfast is underwhelming and the set up causes a long line you have to wait in even if you just want to grab something real quick and go. Even the coffee is tucked in a nook so you have to wait for someone to finish making their one cup so you can grab yours. Fitness room is uninviting. The staff at the front desk could be more friendly. Only the person who checked us in really said anything to us. We only stayed 2 nights. The room fit our purpose of really just needing a place to sleep.

I came here for my 5 year anniversary and stayed two days in a queen size bedroom, my experience is was so lovely, the staff was so nice, everyone was so attentive, I had no bad experiences the rooms are clean and I didn't have any issues with lousy neighbors or the smell or Marijuana or anything of that sort. They have a 24 hour gym which is so nice, the coffee they have there is actually really good, this is a really nice hotel to just get away and come relax, the only downside is that the breakfast is indeed small mostly bagels and cereal but there are plenty of breakfast places like a IHOP nearby, and check in time is at 3pm which kind of sucks if you come from far so we just went to the boardwalk in the mean time, but they told us to come back at 1 so we were able to get checked in early, but no major complaints I had a great experience here♥️

The hotel is a basic two-star establishment, not much to write about. The breakfast options are limited, but overall, it’s passable. The location is convenient, within driving distance of the main attractions, beach, outlet mall, and restaurants.

However, the service is quite disappointing. I would have preferred to stay at a different hotel for the same price but a family member booked it for us. I paid $200 per night in the middle of the week and never received fresh towels, which was a bit disappointing. The room is standard size, not too big, but it had a slight water smell, which I wasn’t a fan of.

On the positive side, the staff is generally friendly and welcoming, except for one person who seemed to take offense to my simple questions about my room. I’ve never visited a hotel and been called crazy by receptionist or whoever she is for asking questions, this employee was refused to assist whatsoever with a bad attitude.

In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you have no other options.
