Comfort Inn Gold Coast

This hotel is extremely shady. I booked a room for my friend who is an elderly woman. She is polite, tidy, currently homeless, and needed to get out of the rain for a couple of days because she has an injury. I paid for three nights at the hotel at full price. My friend called me crying when she checked out, saying that the hotel staff were extremely rude to her. They were clearly discriminating against her because of her situation, and after talking to her in a way that no one should ever speak to any other human being, they made several attempts to charge her debit card, which she gave them to cover incidentals. The charges- beginning at $250 and ending in $25, (all the cash she had to cover food until the end of the month) are listed on the photo below. This is shameful behavior. Complaints will be filed at every possible level until this place is punished. Being homeless is not a crime.

Pros: plenty of parking, easy check in, polite staff, pool access and well maintained, good location.

Cons: we stayed here three times now, so obviously it’s not a bad place to stay most of the time. This last time our AC didn’t blow cool air, and pool wasn’t stocked often with enough towels. It was spring break for seniors, so that was poor planning on my end. Pot smell often in the elevator, hallways and outside the building. Groups of seniors in the pool area with portable speakers… not totally child friendly at times. This was our first time getting a sofa bed room. The sofa bed did not have any bedding, we had to ask for some and carry it up ourselves. The mattress in the sofa bed had a urine stain.

This hotel is a little ways from the board walk but nice to be away from the busy area of the beach. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel rates are reasonable as well.
