Comfort Inn Gold Coast

First, I'll say that the front desk staff and housekeeping staff were very friendly and helpful. For starters, the lights in the parking lot were all not working. The lot is very dark. The carpets in the elevators are disgusting. I worked at a college campus and they remind me of the urine and puke stained carpets in the elevators. They smell accordingly. The pool had some sort of brown slimy substance in the bottom of it and there were no towels on the towel rack. The air conditioner in the fitness center worked, but the buttons to adjust it were broken. Also, the weights on the cable machine were mislabeled as the wrong weight. One half of the cable machine couldn't be used as the pin couldn't be placed in the weight stack. Also, the stationary bike peddles were broken and essentially useless. The room had the typical funky college dorm smell. We noticed hair and dirt in between the sheets. Also, the sheets were very stained (see attached pictures). The refrigerator shelves has what looked like sweet and sour sauce on them. The room did have a nice style if it was a little better cared for. With a little TLC, some carpet replacement, and attention to detail, this could be a decent hotel.

Our room was fine, parking sucked, staff was kind. Do not trust swimming in the pool. My daughter contracted impetigo (a serious skin infection) within a week after swimming in the indoor pool. The swab came positive for 6 different bacteria and fungus that the doctor said are commonly tied to poorly maintained public pools. We tried reaching out to management twice and never received a call back.

**EDIT** So glad the hotel can post an impersonal response to a review but can’t have an actual representative make a phone call. Great customer service as you all can see!

We stayed here on Mother’s Day weekend, May 12, 2024. My family and I were visiting for a volleyball tournament and stayed here at the comfort Inn and was surprisingly pleased. The outside can be kind of deceiving, but the rooms were clean very inviting. I asked for the Bayview and the view did not disappoint being able to wake up and see the beautiful water and view was all worth it. It was quiet and very well located in a good place like in the middle of everything. They have Denny’s literally right next-door and shopping centers literally within walking distance was great too. It was a very good experience and I would definitely recommend staying here because we had no issues at all. The staff was very friendly. Everybody was nice and it was a good visit. I would recommend and definitely be back to visit again….
