Comfort Inn Boardwalk

I have been to this hotel in the past a few times but it seems like nothing has been updated in like past 9 years. And it has downgraded since then. The worst experience was in the room, there was a continuous cyclic humming sound that was coming from behind the wall it the room and it was so irritating and none of my family members had a good night's sleep. After charging about $500 per night, we deserve a better breakfast. The variety they have is mostly different kind of breads/bagels and only two old age toasters. So while everyone has to eat breads/bagels, they have to wait in long lines like a rescue camp, for their turn to use the toasters while more people are waiting in line to grab a seat and that's not happening because of the long wait times at 'the toaster'. It's feels cheap at a high price they charge. The indoor swimming pool is as dirty as it gets, not sure if their pool filter was even working. The water was cloudy and we literally saw hair bushes floating in the water. They have cramped up parking lots, can't even provide us an assigned parking lot, once you take your car out for a drive, you have to keep on looking forever to find a parking, even though it's included with the stay. It gave us a feeling like we were robbed off of our money. Just because it is right next to the boardwalk and very near to the amusement park doesn't justify it's high price, they need to provide better services. I have been to Hotels where I have paid way less and got 200% better stays.

Adding the response from the owner, in case someone finds my review misleading in terms of breakfast offered. But this still doesn't change the facts I listed in my review.

We offer about 30 items for breakfast each morning. They include 3 juices, 2 coffees, 2 yogurts, 2 hot cereals, 3 cold cereals, 3 fruits, 2 milks, eggs, sausages, 2 waffles, honey buns, 3 danish, 2 muffins, 2 breads, bagels and all of the condiments for the listed items. When you checked-in you were given a parking permit with a map listing the parking areas with more than ample spaces.

We booked last minute and were pleasantly surprised to get a beautiful oceanfront room on the 4th floor. The view was stunning, the room seemed clean and well-kept at first glance, and the bathroom and kitchenette were both very nice. The complimentary breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Although we didn’t use many amenities, the pools looked nice and the location next to the Kite Loft was perfect. It was also very quiet, which we appreciated.

However, the downside was cleanliness. We were so tired when we arrived that we didn’t notice until the next morning that some of the towels had brown stains on them. Worse, when I went to strip the sheets before checkout, I discovered the dirty outline of an old bandage stuck to the bottom corner of the fitted sheet. It had collected dirt and debris around the sticky residue—definitely not something you want to find in your bedding. It made us wonder if the sheets had actually been changed before our stay.

Overall, the stay had many positives, but the sheet and towel situation left us feeling uneasy. Hopefully, housekeeping tightens things up because it’s otherwise a great place.

I wish I could give even more stars! The manager Chris, front desk Janet, assistant manager Frank, night manager, cleaning lady Amanda, the wonderful breakfast lady, and every other staff member treated us like royalty. We can't wait to go back in September! Walking distance to the Inlet, right on the Boardwalk. Rooms were immaculate. And did I mention the staff💜??? Indoor and outdoor pools that were clean and clear.
