Carousel Hotel

We stayed here as a family of 6 for 5 nights. The beds were firm and springy and a bit lumpy. I think it might be time to change those out. The pull-out bed from the couch was super thin and just as uncomfortable. My oldest decided to just sleep on the couch as-is. I think the amenities were great. However, the mermaid appearance at the pool was canceled which was supposed to be the highlight of the trip for my little girl's kindergarten graduation. Things happen. Overall, it was a decent stay, and I wouldn't stray anyone from staying here. We would stay there again as nothing was a deal breaker for us. The restaurants in which we were looking forward to though... Well, the inside one closes at 11 a.m. yet they advertised on all screens about themed nights for said restaurant? That was incredibly confusing as if we were missing something and misleading to all of the guests. The shower pressure also sucked like most hotels do (PLEASE change that! People want to have a nice shower after outside activities!) All the staff were wonderful and we have had nice conversations with the bounce house worker while the kids ran around on the grass there and used said bounce house. I think that's a great addition to have and I hope it stays! They did stick with the scheduled movie night on the beach but we passed up on that offer as we have seen Surfs Up many times. But that's super cool! I know many families enjoyed that! Overall I think this is a great choice for families with children. There's some improvements needed but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Just ok. Mediocre rooms and amenities. The pools, both indoor and outdoor were ok. They advertise beach chairs, which is only at the pool. Beach chairs are a third party that weren’t included but available every day. I was excited about the ice rink, the ice was not good. Check in was awful (not their fault) as a large amount of guests got there at once and it was a cluster.

Staff though, the staff were awesome. Every one of them I encountered.

BEWARE: If you are considering reserving a room at the Carousel Hotel...don't do it!!! They ripped us off for $400! We had planned a family vacation over this past Christmas to the Carousel. They required that we give a deposit of $100 for each of the 4 rooms in order to reserve. Unfortunately, I contracted Covid 2 nights before the trip and we had to cancel. (I certainly wasn't going to go on the trip and take the chance of spreading my illness to family and everyone at the hotel. We contacted the hotel and were informed that, although they had provided no service whatsoever, they would not offer a refund for the $400 nor would they give us credit toward a future trip. This is unfair business practice and we are in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Also, please know that the ladies handling reservations will not give out contact information for the owner/President, Michael James. It appears that he is unreachable, no matter what the issue may be. I will be seeking legal action as well.
