Atlantic Hotel

My husband was so excited to have lunch here. Unfortunately, he didn't get to. The hostess seated us on the front porch. We sat for several minutes watching our server help the busser clean off the table close to ours. He served the 4 people at a table just behind us. We continued to wait while he passed us at least 4 times without making eye contact or pausing to acknowledge us. We finally told the hostess we were still waiting. Her response, was "well how long has it been!?" (I guess it was so long she forgot!) She did say she'd tell him. Another several minutes went by and she seated people close to us. We got up and left. There were a lot of options in town. We found a lovely place just down the road where the staff was much more eager to have us at their establishment.

The word "Charming" is not enough to do justice the The Atlantic. From the warm welcome at the front desk, to the tastefully decorated room (no one went overboard with antiques that just get in the way), to the comfortable bed, plentiful drawers, and great location in this surprisingly quaint town, we had an amazing experience. The restaurant is worth a visit. But what made me determined to share this lovely place was after one of my very expensive electronics fell on the floor, the housekeeping staff found it, called me, and mailed it within 24 hours. This place is HIGHLY recommended!

Our stay at the Atlantic had an unfortunate twist. We stayed in the Farmer's Cottage and had run-in with tenants of the neighboring property. We informed management with no response. Berlin is a cool little town and we really tried to enjoy ourselves but all we really wanted to do was get out of town as fast as we could. The hotel looks like a fun spot but beware of staying in the Farmer's Cottage.
