Lovely location. I was looking forward to eating here on a visit to town. When I asked while ordering if my travel companion and I could have separate checks for our two separate lunches, the server balked and said okay, but they don't usually do that because they are "really busy" and it is "more work." Come on, it was a weekday on off season...No water refill either and just generally smug.

Went this rainy Sunday for lunch to get out of the house & then browse Berlin shops. Was perfect. Sat on the enclosed sunporch to watch the street scene while protected. Super friendly and efficient waitstaff. Enjoyed the food & special Berlin Cosmo cocktails. The unexpected live pianist was terrific. She had the volume & selections just right; a real pro. Gave a wonderful ambiance without upstaging the dining & conversation.

Great place to stay. They have the best Orange Crush, my opinion. There are a lot of interesting little shops around the hotel.
