Granting it is a very "well loved" building, it is in reasonable shape. Staff definitely takes pride in their work and it shows. Very pleasant and accommodating The room was ice cold in the nicest way as it was 100 degrees during our visit. The proximity to the beach made watching sunrise a cinch and repeated trips to the beach easy.

About what we expected for the price. Outdated but most motels in OC are, especially any for a decent price. We arrived really early so the front desk was accommodating and let us use the pool while we waited for our room check-in. We were able to get into our room about an hour early which was really helpful with the kids. Quiet. Great location! We could walk to the beach so we didn’t have to drive and pay to park somewhere. Also, not as busy on the beach or traffic with less stores and attractions but still within walking distance to some.

You get what you pay for. The location was great, but the rooms were very outdated. The bathroom floor had missing tiles, the toilet didn’t flush properly, and the carpet left my socks black. We had to ask multiple times for fresh towels each day, even though we followed instructions and placed them outside our door.

When we arrived, I asked to be moved closer to the group I was with. The new room they gave me was not Oceanside, and it should have been a lower rate. When I asked if the price would be adjusted, I was told they were “doing me a favor,” so no discount was given.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t stay here again.
