Shoreham Hotel

The best thing about this place was the staff. They were very kind & friendly. I understand its only a 2 star hotel but it $250 for 1 night… is a lot especially for a 10x10 room. I will say it is on the boardwalk though which is nice for convenience. The shower temperature constantly switched from scolding hot to ice cold.. no exaggeration. I’m 5’5 & 115lbs & the shower was small for me… which says a lot lol. There was mold in the ac unit in the room so we kept it off. Luckily wasn’t a super hot night but either was mold is not a good look whatsoever. The hotel is above a restaurant/pub, noise wasn’t terrible but you can hear the music & you can hear all conversations in the street/alley outside your window. Luckily the pub closes at midnight. Hotel needs a bit of work/renovations. We’re only here for a night & were in a pinch places were booked so its not awful but definitely not worth $250… a place like this is worth maybe $80/100 at most.

The location is THE BEST thing about this hotel, the hotel is right on the Boardwalk.
The ice machine was leaking all over the floor making it sopping wet… to the point that your shoes get wet and you could slip and fall down the stairs. The room had food behind the night stand that was there before us… no remote for the tv… the window ac was loud but did keep the room cold. The water for the shower didn’t stay a consistent temp cold to hot then back to cold. The steps are very narrow and a hassle to get your luggage up and down. There is no straight entrance to the boardwalk you have to walk around the building and up the sidewalk where there was grease or something dripping from some pipe from the restaurant/bar.
After a long walk on the Boardwalk going up 3 flights of stairs sucked!! My kids have no desire to go back!!

Room was very cramped. When I was in the shower I kept turning the water off and hitting the curtain which would stick to me. I’m a small person and it was too small. Throughout the room I felt like it couldn’t fully expand. There was an over powering scent of cleaning supplies. At least it was clean but if you’re sensitive you have a reaction. Location was nice. Parking was very tight and people didn’t leave from check out so we had to wait to get a spot.

You get what you pay for. If you’re looking for an okayish budget hotel with a good location it’s this one but you may be better off paying a bit more for a nicer stay if you’re picky but trying to save money. (FYI hand soap pictured is ours)
