Shoreham Hotel

The best thing about this place was the staff. They were very kind & friendly. I understand its only a 2 star hotel but it $250 for 1 night… is a lot especially for a 10x10 room. I will say it is on the boardwalk though which is nice for convenience. The shower temperature constantly switched from scolding hot to ice cold.. no exaggeration. I’m 5’5 & 115lbs & the shower was small for me… which says a lot lol. There was mold in the ac unit in the room so we kept it off. Luckily wasn’t a super hot night but either was mold is not a good look whatsoever. The hotel is above a restaurant/pub, noise wasn’t terrible but you can hear the music & you can hear all conversations in the street/alley outside your window. Luckily the pub closes at midnight. Hotel needs a bit of work/renovations. We’re only here for a night & were in a pinch places were booked so its not awful but definitely not worth $250… a place like this is worth maybe $80/100 at most.

Yes, the rooms are small, yes the AC is a window unit, yes the bathroom is very small, yes the stairs are narrow and there are no elevators, yes the floor seem a bit tilted in places, yes it had a mild, old mildew like smell. BECAUSE IT'S A VERY OLD HISTORICAL HOTEL, BEACH FRONT ON THE BOARDWALK IN OCEAN CITY. BUILT IN 1920. I'm sure it has been flooded multiple times in it's 102 years standing. Also, mold that is just black is not black mold. Black mold is, for the lack of better word, furry. BUT FOR ME, THE CHANCE TO STAY IN A HOTEL THAT IS OVER 100 YRS OLD AND HAS SEEN SO MUCH HISTORY, WAS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE! I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.

The location is THE BEST thing about this hotel, the hotel is right on the Boardwalk.
The ice machine was leaking all over the floor making it sopping wet… to the point that your shoes get wet and you could slip and fall down the stairs. The room had food behind the night stand that was there before us… no remote for the tv… the window ac was loud but did keep the room cold. The water for the shower didn’t stay a consistent temp cold to hot then back to cold. The steps are very narrow and a hassle to get your luggage up and down. There is no straight entrance to the boardwalk you have to walk around the building and up the sidewalk where there was grease or something dripping from some pipe from the restaurant/bar.
After a long walk on the Boardwalk going up 3 flights of stairs sucked!! My kids have no desire to go back!!
