Stayed 5 nights for a family vacation. We had a 2 queen, sofa bed, kitchenette room with ocean view on a top floor. Our room was very clean and comfortable. By no means is this an upscale hotel, however the staff were friendly and helpful.
Good: The oceanfront room with a balcony was wonderful. The location of the hotel can't be best. It's literally a minute walk to get on the beach with all your beach gear. It's on the quieter end of the boardwalk, but not so far that you couldn't walk to the south end where there is more to do. Everything was very clean. With the beach so close, tons of water and sand get dragged in on the floors and the pools but staff were cleaning it seemed 24/7.
Bad: parking is tight and challenging especially for a bigger vehicle. There is a parking lot across the street for the hotel (that the checkin staff didn't tell me about). When I figured that out, it was a little easier. Their WiFi wouldn't connect to my kids Amazon Tablets or Nintendo Switches, despite following all the prompts and sign in instructions. WiFi worked on our phones.
Overall: Would stay again in the same type of room

So torn about this hotel. Love the location, love the vibes and the staff is very helpful and pleasant. But this building and its rooms that I am assuming are maybe the “lower tier/price range” with booking, TRULY MOST ABSOLUTELY need to be renovated immediately. Mold, water stained walls/ceiling, rusted out appliances and either bad or no air condition. I’m the guest that hates to complain but I felt I had to say something because I love staying here( when you get the right room). From check-in we had to call maintenance 3 times on the first hour. The toilet chain that flushes the toilet, was rusted out and broke on the first use. The stove top burners weren’t connected, simple fix but we weren’t sure how to fix. And so at that point we didn’t want to call anymore. Then came the non-working air conditioning unit. Wouldn’t know it wasn’t working until later in the evening, the room started to get hot and muggy. Saw that there was a dehumidifier which we didn’t understand why it was there at first butttt, realizes real quick. All the changing the thermos back and forth and nothing, no actual cool air coming from unit at all, however the room is now humid so we turn the dehumidifier on. Two hours later the temp in the room went from 75 to 84 and we couldn’t figure out why, then realized the dehumidifier is pushing out all heat in efforts to try and clear out the humidity. I had no energy to go back and complain again so I told myself, it won’t be that bad. We slept horrible the first night, went to the cvs and bought 2 fans the second night because in my mind there was nothing the hotel was gonna do to help the situation especially with no available rooms. We jut checked out today, I want to come back..I’ve been coming every year for the last 5 years, it adding this review to beat anyone up, I just know a little more can be done to these rooms you guys are renting out. People love coming here, just want to be comfortable.

Years ago I stayed at this hotel and had no complaints. Always praised how I enjoyed staying there. Rooms were nice, pool areas were nice/clean, employees were friendly, and the location was really good. Times have changed, my family stayed there recently and we had our fair share of problem. Room Air Conditioning wasn’t working and got the runaround for 2 days on it being fixed with the room being 77-80 degrees at night. Maintenance came up twice that I know of and tried fixing the problem. Due to the hotel being fully booked they were unable to move us to another room until the last night. All they were able to do was give us one box fan. I have stayed at other hotels in Ocean City Maryland where the air conditioning wasn’t working properly and the hotel brought in a portable Air Conditioner. That would have been an easy option due to the room having a window. Was told that I would be compensated for the inconvenience with paying full price for when the advertisement on booking.com says Air Conditioned rooms but I would have to go through booking.com due to me using them. Did all that work with filing the claim and days later the hotel denied it and said I never came down and told them there was a problem. If I didn’t come down and let them know there was a problem why did they move me to a new room the last day? Every time I went down and asked about the Air Conditioning (5 times in a matter of 2 days) the front desk was not very pleasant (day and night shift) with me and had an excuse that it was fixed or I had to tell day shift which I did. Inside pool area doesn’t look like it was cleaned in years. Rooms had stains on the ceiling from leaks on the floor above and wall paper was falling off the walls. Just got that feeling that the room was dirty. On the inside pool green algae is growing out and around the floor drains, glass ceiling/sunroom wasn’t cleaned in forever, and none of the floor drains around the pool worked so there was stagnant on the floor (our stay was in the middle of June). Times have changed at the Quality Inn & Board Walk. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel when ya pay $1,200 for 3 nights and have these problems.
