This place has a very small lobby no place to sit no tea and coffee machine in lobby no welcoming feeling at all. When we arrived they had trouble finding my name and then when found my name I was disappointed to find that despite my thinking I had chosen the breakfast included option that I did not have breakfast included. It’s fine if that was a mistake in what I thought I purchased but when explaining it I was met with an explanation it would be 60 dollars extra to have breakfast for two people for two days and they didn’t think I should purchase it. It seemed a bit much and we didn’t get the breakfast. I didn’t feel much warmth or friendliness when checking out either just handed the keys and no one asked how was your stay or anything no eye contact either. The elevator is worn down like it belongs in a service elevator it needs to be completely redone tape is over the light and nails sticking out and it’s scruffy the halls are dark and ceiling low and you immediately notice stains on all the carpets. Everything feels old. The good part was the room was clean we had a great view of the ocean and a nice kitchenette. The couch was stained and carpet stained but everything else clean. The cost was comparatively very high for the area and overall decor in the off season at 169 a night and that’s without the breakfast. No nice little quaint touches or anything. I ended up having a nice stay but wouldn’t choose this hotel again. They did have the room ready in time and I did enjoy the view of the ocean a lot. Kitchen area was nice but no sponge or oil or anything. Overall I felt most of the building was old not a very warm feeling and the room was clean and view nice. Restaurant attached is very pricey.

We were two families, my cousin and I, so we booked two rooms for four days to celebrate New Year's Eve 2025, so I'll start with the pros: The room was nice and clean, the bathroom was fully stocked with all the shampoos, body wash, towels and everything else. The room also had a good sized fridge, a touch stove, a microwave and full appliances even a can opener so you don't need to bring anything. The only thing missing was a kettle. The view was beautiful (ocean view). The housekeeping staff checked on our rooms every day. The pool and jacuzzi were nice too.
Cons: Since day one, the air conditioning didn't work well in either room, even when we changed the temperature. Also, one of the heavy curtains fell to the floor when I gently moved it to open the balcony door. I looked carefully and found that it wasn't fastened properly and the number of screws used to hold it in place were small and few for its size. The pillows and covers were a bit new. The next day at 8:30 am, we heard a noise coming from one of the adjacent rooms and it seemed that someone was doing maintenance because we heard a sound of

I recently attempted to stay at the Holiday Inn Ocean City on 6600 Coastal Highway, and unfortunately, my experience started off on the wrong foot before I even arrived or booked a room. As an IHG member, I should have known better given the recent reviews, which rarely go above three stars.

With a winter storm approaching, I called and spoke with Martha about the possibility of an early check-in. I explained the situation and even offered to pay extra for the convenience, as I was simply trying to arrive safely before the weather worsened. I also inquired about their current occupancy levels, thinking they might be accommodating given the circumstances. However, the conversation was disheartening. There was zero effort or willingness to assist me, and hospitality – the very essence of their business – seemed nonexistent.

In hindsight, I am relieved they didn’t try to help. This negative experience led me to the Holiday Inn on 1701 Atlantic Avenue, where I was met with exceptional service. They went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and upheld the IHG standards I’ve come to expect. It’s clear that the Coastal Highway location falls far short of these expectations.

While this location may be slightly cheaper, the additional $15 to stay at the Atlantic Avenue Holiday Inn is more than worth it. You’ll receive better service, a more professional attitude, and an overall better experience. Skip the Coastal Highway location – it’s not worth the hassle or disappointment.
