 FIRST STEWARDS. \n\nTRADITION BEARER DEMONSTRATIONS \n\nWalk among the g
 rounds and witness the ingenuity of the Nusswattux\npeople. Throughout the
  morning\, Pocomoke Tradition Bearers will share\ntheir expertise through 
 live demonstrations and displays\, including:\n\n *\nTHE ART OF THE HEARTH
  & HUNT: Discover the skill of flintknapping and\nthe traditional use of s
 tone and bone tools for hide tanning and\nhunting.\n\n *\nSPIRIT OF SOUND:
  Experience the resonance of the river cane flute and\nthe water drum.\n\n
  *\nRESOURCEFUL CRAFT: Learn the delicate process of creating cattail\ndec
 oys.\n\n *\nINTERACTIVE LEARNING: Participate in \"make-and-take\" activit

  JR. Join us for a deeply insightful\npresentation as Buddy Howard Jr. exp
 lores the Pocomoke Indian\nNation’s journey through time. This lecture f
 ocuses on the\nNUSSWATTUX SUBTRIBE and their history on this landscape—s
 pecifically\nthe legacy of ASKIMINOKONSON INDIAN TOWN. \n\nYou will also 
 learn about the _History\, Heritage and Homelands_\nself-guided journey\, 
 a collaborative project between the Pocomoke\nIndian Nation and the Beach 
 to Bay Heritage Area. Tribal historians\nwill be available to share the si
 gnificance of local sites (Stops 9\,\n10\, and 24b) and discuss the profou
 nd impact of colonialism on these\nIndigenous homelands.\n
